| The Hansel family has a long history in the business of transportation and concern for our community. Joseph Hansel founded the Hansel Pioneer Carriage Works in 1851, providing vehicles that contributed to his community's growth and survival. Joseph's son, Walter Hansel, was a pioneer in automobile sales, credited with owning the first Cadillac franchise in California and for understanding that exceptional customer service could overcome doubts about cars. Walter C. Hansel, the son of the automotive sales pioneer, opened his first auto center in 1946 in the once small town of Vacaville.
Since then, we've grown and now represent eleven manufacturers in eight auto centers in Santa Rosa and Petaluma. Management of the dealership group has passed to brothers Stephen and Henry Hansel, but we still hold true to the same values the Hansel family established over 150 years ago.
